Primary responsibilities will include writing and development of various marketing pieces, firm publicity, as well as coordinating marketing and other social events. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism or related field preferred. Excellent communication and organizational skills, ability to work both independently and as in integral part of a team and minimum 10 years related experience (preferably within an A/E/C environment) required. The ability to prioritize, multi-task and successfully meet strict deadlines is required. Excellent typing, spelling, grammar and proofreading skills are essential. PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Effectively prepares Project Qualification and Project Proposal submittals and obtains Contracts for construction, construction management and design build services by establishing and maintaining effective contact with potential buyers, consultants and A/E firms with emphasis on the Industrial Market as well as other markets that Walbridge serves.

 

TYPICAL DUTIES: (Roles & Responsibilities)

Evaluates project solicitation documents to determine requirements for Qualification and Proposal submittals.

Successfully creates project submittals for both Qualification and Proposal phases.

Develops the technical written verbiage associated with the creation of Qualification and Proposal submittals.

Leads and coordinates the efforts of Operations and Estimating personnel for technical writing support.

Establishes and maintains effective contact with clients, consultants and A/E firms and identifies project opportunities.

Attends seminars, forums and industry meetings.

Assists in the development and implementation of the Strategic Marketing Plan, department sales objectives and individual sales plans.

Provides input and feedback on issues relevant to client programs, work in progress, marketing initiative and sales assistance.

Assists and coordinates with other market sector efforts as directed and performs additional assignments as assigned or required.

 

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Business Administration, Language Arts [and similar disciplines] or equivalent experience and professional training is required.

Must demonstrate a thorough understanding of how to craft construction proposals with experience specifically marketing to the Industrial market preferred.

Good working knowledge of the construction process and the technical terminology used in the construction industry.

Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills as well as outstanding organizational ability.

Minimum of 5 years experience in the creation of Qualification and Proposal documents.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software.

Knowledge of OSHA Safety Regulations, LEED certification requirements, USGBC and other Sustainability initiatives and Lean Construction practices a definite plus.

Active participation in professional and trade organizations desired.

Ability to meet tight deadlines for complex tasks.

Travel may be required.

 

COMMENTS:

Position requires an extreme attention to detail which assures that all submittal requirements are met on each and every project.  Understanding the sales process and the dedication that it requires to be successful is essential.

Persons with exceptional writing skills in non-construction related industries may be considered.
